The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Arizona Region and the Podium Club are excited to announce a unique opportunity for first-time drivers to experience the thrill of speed during their upcoming Arizona Sports Car Challenge event, March 23-23.
For the first time in years, the SCCA is welcoming non-licensed participants to drive on a 15-turn, 2.32-mile, world-class professional road racing circuit in two different Driver Development (DE) groups. This is an unprecedented chance for beginners to experience the excitement of fast laps in a secure, controlled environment, while learning alongside more experienced racers.
First-time drivers can get behind the wheel of their own street or race car for just $175 for Saturday or $250 for the weekend, plus a $15 membership fee. Drivers will be grouped by experience level into DE2 and DE3, with an emphasis on safety and fun.
For those with limited track experience, the event will also offer Club Racing Experience (CRE) lap sessions. CRE provides an excellent opportunity for participants looking to improve their skills while pushing the edge of their own performance envelopes.
In addition to the DE and CRE sessions, the event will host Regional & National SCCA Race Classes, open to all licensed SCCA drivers. To learn more about rules, classes, or to register, click here.

Drivers who do not own a suitable high-performance vehicle, or prefer not to drive their own car, can take advantage of rental options from JDP Racing, (480-338-4353) which will have HPDE and other race cars available. Additionally, WDL Racing (512-766-5438) is offering a special 5% discount on all purchases or up to $50 off any helmet and NecksGen safety equipment, with trackside delivery available. All purchases must be made by March 16 to ensure size and color confirmation.
The Podium Club is located at 6870 S. Bianco Road, Casa Grande, AZ 85193, just half a mile south of Interstate 8 and about 8 miles west of Interstate 10, Gates will open at 7 a.m. on both days, with on-track action taking place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Spectators are welcome to attend the event free of charge, and food and beverages will be available. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and sunscreen.
