The 64th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona once again delivered everything that has made the event the unofficial kickoff to the international motorsports season: world-class competition, dramatic finishes, and record-setting fan support at one of racing’s most iconic venues.
Before a sellout crowd, the largest in the event’s storied history, Felipe Nasr continued his remarkable Daytona legacy by earning a record-tying third consecutive overall victory in the Rolex 24. Driving the No. 7 Porsche Penske Motorsport Porsche 963 alongside co-drivers Julien Andlauer and Laurin Heinrich, Nasr took the checkered flag just 1.569 seconds ahead of Jack Aitken in the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac V-Series R, with Dries Vanthoor completing the podium in the No. 24 BMW M Hybrid V8. The GTP (Grand Touring Prototype) class—the premier category in IMSA competition—demonstrated its depth and performance by sweeping the top nine finishing positions.
With the victory, Nasr joined elite company, matching the feat of Helio Castroneves (2021–23) and Peter Gregg (1973, 1975–76) as the only drivers to win three consecutive Rolex 24 overall titles. Porsche Penske Motorsport also etched its name further into Daytona history, tying the record for most consecutive team victories alongside Chip Ganassi Racing (2006–08) and Wayne Taylor Racing (2019–21).
The Rolex 24’s endurance challenge once again showcased excellence across all classes. CrowdStrike Racing by APR captured the LMP2 (Le Mans Prototype 2) win with its No. 04 ORECA 07, driven by George Kurtz, Alex Quinn, Toby Sowery, and Malthe Jakobsen. The No. 1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3 EVO, driven by Neil Verhagen, Connor De Phillippi, Max Hesse and Dan Harper claimed GTD PRO (Grand Touring Daytona Pro) honors in the No. 1 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, while in GTD, Philip Ellis in the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 battled Nicki Thiim in the No. 44 Magnus Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo throughout the closing laps to get the victory.
Beyond the on-track action, the event marked several milestones, including record attendance and the longest continuous caution period (6 hours and 33 minutes) in Rolex 24 history due to persistent fog — underscoring the unpredictable drama that defines endurance racing.
With Daytona setting the tone, the motorsports calendar now accelerates toward its next major moment: the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series kickoff at the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium on Sunday, Feb. 1.
