NASA AZ Racing Returning to Podium Club at Attesa

NASA (National Auto Sport Association) is the largest motorsports organization in America, with a tiered driving qualification system that allows enthusiasts of any skill level to drive their vehicles on track, regardless of their experience.

Formed in 1991, they now have 15 regions which cover nearly every road racing circuit in the United States.

NASA Arizona, stewarded by local racer Tage Evanson, proudly delivers the very highest quality club-level motorsports events to enthusiasts throughout the Grand Canyon State.

NASA AZ has been running at the Podium Club twice a year since it opened in 2022. The organization and its drivers love the track, because the FIA-safety spec (at buildout) circuit is challenging, fun, convenient, and most of all barrier-free for cars and drivers.

The upcoming spring event offers something for all drivers, as evidenced by the large menu of groups that will compete, against others or the clock, at the Podium Club:

  • HPDE1 (Beginner) - Classroom + 1x1 instructor passing only on main straights

  • HPDE2 (Novice) - Similar/same to HPDE1 but no instructor required

  • HPDE3 (Intermediate) – Passing is limited

  • HPDE4 (Advanced) - Open passing with courtesy

  • Time Attack (Sun only) - This will provide competitors (in HPDE3+) a near open track for 2 hot laps. Only the fastest lap counts. NOTE: Must be combined with an event registration

  • Time Trial - Drivers compete for fastest lap time. This group requires a NASA "Time Trial" or "Competition"/Race License

  • RACE - (*Wheel to wheel* racing) Requires a NASA Competition Racing License

  • SupersizeTT - For Race Group drivers looking to also compete in Time Trial. NOTE: This option is ONLY good with a "2 day" paid "RACE" pre-registration

Registration for the event closes at 8 p.m. on Thursday, 3/14/2024.

The track will be open for all Podium Club members except motorcyclists on Friday, March 15.  NASA members who are registered for Saturday and/or Sunday may also drive on Friday ($350/full day, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m., or $200/afternoon only, 1-5 p.m.).
